I was surprised to read that you are deaf. What a triumph that you became a successful author!
As for me, I first wanted to be either a professional singer or an artist. Somehow, I became an English teacher, a librarian and a writer.
During the time I was actually figuring out what I wanted to do and that a good number of career options were effectively closed to me, I came to realize that I had about three choices:
(1) Be a Writer
(2) Be a Mistress or Trophy Wife
(3) Be a Hooker
Option #2 held no attraction at all for me.
Options #1 and #3 were sort of a dead heat.
I decided that option #1 sounded like less work.
To paraphrase the Grail Knight from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, “Perhaps I chose poorly.” 😉

Funny how things work out, eh?

When I was a kid, I wanted to become an astronaut.
Not too surprising considering that of my top five heroes, one of them was an astronaut and another should have been an astronaut.
But, being totally deaf, there are some things I’m just not allowed to do. In this case, that’s probably a good thing!
