I write in a totally linear way. I can’t jump around in scenes. I have to write what happens next, as if I’m reading the book, not writing it. When I get done writing for a session, my mind goes into over-drive, and while cooking, showering, driving, even dreaming, my mind “shows” me what happens in the next scene. I do have a story arc loosely in my mind, but have to write scenes in the order they occur.
